Explore the Andalusian legacy in Morocco through its traditional architecture

European Heritage Days 2025 Three Cultures Foundation
With the Three Cultures Foundation

As part of European Heritage Days (EHD) 2025, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation is joining this major international celebration of cultural heritage with a unique proposal: ‘Discovering Morocco through its architecture’, a programme of themed guided tours that invites visitors to explore the history and essence of Islamic architecture, with a special focus on its Andalusian roots, a living legacy that connects the shores of the Mediterranean.

The conference, coordinated in Spain by the Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute (Ministry of Culture) and promoted at European level by the Council of Europe and the European Commission, has as its theme this year ‘Heritage and Architecture: windows to the past, doors to the future’. This slogan invites us to reflect on how buildings are constructed memories, witnesses to the past and, at the same time, spaces open to new uses and meanings.

The Three Cultures Foundation proposes a tour of one of the most unique symbols of dialogue between cultures: the Hassan II Pavilion, the institution's headquarters and an emblematic architectural work that, since its inauguration for Expo 92, has established itself as a cultural bridge between Spain and Morocco.

During the month of November, which is dedicated to Morocco, three guided tours will be organised — on 6, 11 and 24 November at 6.30 p.m. — allowing visitors to discover not only the history of the Hassan II Pavilion, but also the principles that define Islamic architecture.

With this initiative, the Three Cultures Foundation offers a unique learning and enjoyment experience, in which architectural heritage becomes a window to the past and a door to the future, as proposed by the European motto. A journey without leaving Seville, but filled with the light and heritage of Morocco.
