Festival of Atlantic Andalusia – Essaouira 2025

XX Edition of the Festival Andalucias Atlanticas
Twenty years of musical ties between Andalusia and Morocco

For two decades, the Regional Government of Andalusia, through the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, has supported the Atlantic Andalusia Festival in Essaouira, an event that celebrates the shared musical heritage of both shores and transforms the ancient city of Mogador into a hub of coexistence, dialogue and creativity

Every autumn, the Atlantic medina of Essaouira, a city of festivals and a crossroads of cultures, hosts concerts, forums and exhibitions that celebrate the common legacy of Jews, Muslims and Christians and the living kinship between Andalusian music and flamenco

For the Three Cultures Foundation, this long-standing collaboration responds to a public mission: to promote projects that strengthen ties between Andalusia and Morocco, highlight their shared history and promote respect and diversity through the arts.

Since 2003, Andalusian and Moroccan artists have participated in joint programmes and colloquiums that highlight the Andalusian heritage and its dialogue with contemporary flamenco, consolidating an international benchmark for interculturalism.

Now in its 20th edition, the Festival de las Andalucías Atlánticas highlights the two-decade-long link between Andalusia and Morocco with the presence of the best ambassadors of flamenco from the Regional Government of Andalusia: the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet, under the artistic direction of Patricia Guerrero (National Dance Award 2021), which will present Tierra Bendita on Saturday 1 November on the main stage of the Salle Al Massira.

Conceived and directed by Guerrero, the show weaves together tradition and modernity—with direction and choreography by Patricia Guerrero and music by Jesús Rodríguez and José Luis Medina, featuring the song ‘Tierra Bendita’ by Dani de Morón—to showcase a wide range of dance, singing and guitar that breathes life into the conversation between Andalusian heritage and today's flamenco. Thus, at the Three Cultures Foundation, we are celebrating this milestone anniversary by reaffirming the city of Essaouira as an international benchmark for interculturalism
