The Cervantes Institute is paying a double tribute this Tuesday to the veteran poet María Victoria Atencia, a member of the Generation of 50, who will leave a legacy in the Caja de las Letras and will hold a colloquium on the occasion of the publication of her compilation book 'Una luz imprevista'.

At 11:00 am, María Victoria Atencia (Málaga, 1931), winner of the 2014 Queen Sofía Prize for Ibero-American Poetry, will leave a personal legacy in box number 1,004 of the old vault at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute, accompanied by its director, the poet Luis García Montero.

Afterwards (11:30 a.m.), the writer, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cervantes Institute, will take part in a round table discussion on her creative work and the recently published book 'Una luz imprevista. Poesía completa' (Cátedra, 2022), a critical edition that brings together her entire poetic production, from her first book, 'Arte y parte' (1961), to her latest compositions in the Letras Hispánicas collection.

After a greeting from García Montero, the poet and translator will talk with Rocío Badía Fumaz, book editor and lecturer at the Complutense University, and Juan Antonio González Iglesias, poet and lecturer at the University of Salamanca.

Both activities will be broadcast on the Instituto Cervantes Directo 1 and YouTube channels.
