The Three Cultures Foundation resumes the "Learning as a family"

For yet another year, the Three Cultures Foundation is developing another promotion of "Aprendiendo en familia", a totally free training programme dedicated to the learning of Spanish by Moroccans living in the provinces of Seville and Huelva and, at the same time, the learning of classical Arabic among their children so that they do not lose the link with their country of origin. 

This is a joint methodological approach in a multicultural context where the groups of parents and children share schedules and close spaces, thus allowing family reconciliation and family attendance at classes. We work on language learning in a global way, taking into account the skills of oral and written expression, listening, reading and audiovisual comprehension and oral and written interaction. 

In this way, the children acquire some basic linguistic aspects such as learning the graphic system of standard Arabic writing - letters, words and phrases - and then progressively learn vocabulary and some basic grammatical structures that allow them to communicate in the Arabic language. 

The Spanish course is aimed at parents and is designed to cover the language needs they face in everyday situations and thus achieve correct and fluent communication in Spanish. 

The training will be given until June 2024 in 10 different groups in the provinces of Seville and Huelva. The courses will be carried out in collaboration with Fundación Sevilla Acoge in Seville and with the Asociación de Apoyo a Colectivos Desfavorecidos (ACODES) in Huelva. 

Centres and timetables: 

Seville: 

Polígono Sur Group. El Esqueleto Civic Centre. Mondays and Wednesdays from 18.00 to 19.30 hours. 

Macarena Group. Sevilla Acoge Youth Centre in Macarena. Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Olivares Group. Olivares Youth Centre. Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17.30 to 19 hours. 

The training will comprise a total of 600 teaching hours distributed from Monday to Thursday in the afternoon together with one Saturday in the morning and will be given from 16 October 2023 to 20 June 2024. 

Huelva: 

Cartaya: Avda. de la Feria s/n, Escenario ferial "Camerinos". Monday to Thursday from 16:00 to 18:00. 

Lepe: C/ Sevilla s/n, Alcaldía de barrio "San Roque". Monday to Thursday from 16:00 to 18:00. 

The training will comprise a total of 896 teaching hours distributed from Monday to Thursday afternoons and will be given from 9 October 2023 to 22 June 2024. 

Both spaces are provided by the respective city councils.
