Held from 16 to 21 November

The Three Cultures Foundation offers the film mini-cycle 'Living Flamenco'

The Three Cultures Foundation

On November 16, the tenth anniversary of the nomination of flamenco as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity will be commemorated. For this reason, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation has programmed a film mini-cycle (from 16 to 21 November) with three very topical films with the aim of highlighting flamenco and the entire cast of artists who express themselves through song, dance or musical instruments.

The cycle begins with the film 'No, un cuento flamenco', by José Luis Tirado, which talks about human values, reality and everyday art. The initiative continues with 'La Chana', by Lucija Stojevic, a documentary that has won prizes at various festivals and talks about a great artist, Antonia Santiago Amador, the lights and shadows of a life dedicated to creation. Finally, the film 'Se prohíbe el cante', by the directors Félix Vázquez and Paco Ortiz, will be shown, another recent documentary in which the Sevillian cantaora Esperanza Fernández, one of the main voices of current flamenco, will guide us through the flamenco peñas of Andalusia.

The first two films will be shown online, from 7pm to midnight on 16 and 19 November, respectively, while the third will be shown at the Three Cultures Foundation headquarters, on Saturday 21 at 12pm.
