The initiative supports the European Days of Jewish Culture

The Three Cultures Foundation offers the 'Sefarad at Three Cultures' 2020 activity cycle

The Three Cultures Foundation

For more than 20 years, the European Jewish Culture Days have been held in more than 30 countries throughout September, with the aim of promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the Jewish people. The theme chosen for the 2020 edition is 'Jewish Journeys'. This is a joint initiative of the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ), the European Council of Jewish Communities, B'nai B'rith Europe and the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.

The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation supports the proposal by promoting the valorisation of the Jewish legacy in its cultural and historical dimension as an essential action objective. Therefore, thanks to the launch of the second edition of the programme 'Sefarad at Three Cultures', the institution wants to contribute to the development of these days by programming a specific cycle dedicated to the Sephardic heritage, and in particular, to its Moroccan dimension.

From a pluralistic approach, a series of activities have been programmed, including cinema, an exhibition and conferences that seek to make accessible and raise awareness among the general public of the importance of the cultural contribution that the mark of Sepharad has left on global culture.

Programme of activities:

Exhibition:

“Discover Sepharad”. From September 8th.

In collaboration with the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters

Conference:

“The heritage legacy of the oral tradition: the Ladino and the Haketto in a woman's voice”. September 10 at 18:00 h (online via Zoom).

In collaboration with Centre Sefarad-Israel

Cinema:

"Sepharad". Directed by Luis Ismael, Portugal, 2019, 90 minutes.

Tuesday, 29 September, at 9 p.m. in the Andalusian Gardens of the Three Cultures Foundation.
