Atalayar_SoyFlamenco-1200x800

The Three Cultures Foundation presents this photographic exhibition produced by the Instituto Andaluz del Flamenco in which the protagonists are some of the most outstanding flamenco artists on the current scene, portrayed by the Sevillian photographer Eduardo Briones Gómez.

Figures such as Cristina Hoyos, José Valencia, Sara Baras, Manolo Marín, Aurora Vargas, Dorantes, Manuela Carrasco, El Pele, Eva Yerbabuena, Pedro El Granaíno, Marina Heredia, Diego Carrasco, Esperanza Fernández, Farruquito, Pepa Montes, Manuel Lombo, Carmen Linares, Javier Barón, Argentina, Arcángel, Pastora Galván, Jesús Méndez, Patricia Guerrero, Manolo Sanlúcar, Rocío Márquez... are the stars of this exhibition that pays tribute to flamenco, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO ten years ago. An art that, as explained in the presentation of the exhibition, "goes through the heart and never comes out again".

Yo soy flamenco' aims to focus on what it means for flamenco artists to feel, live, create and perform under the sign of flamenco. It is a project that wants to break down any barrier between the creators and their own conception of flamenco. To this end, in addition to the images, the exhibition includes the testimony of each of the artists portrayed, in which they narrate their learning process, their doubts, the ins and outs of the creative process, their influences, but, above all, how they live being flamenco 24 hours a day.

This exhibition on flamenco is the graphic testimony of the legacy that a generation of flamenco artists passes on to the next generation, where the necessary keys to understand the essence and development of this immaterial art can be found.

The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales de la Consejería de Cultura y Patrimonio Histórico, opens this photographic work on 21 January at 12:00 noon.

The exhibition can be visited at the headquarters of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo in Seville from 21 January to 14 February from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 18:00 and Fridays from 9:00 to 16:00.
