ASCAME, the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce, is organizing the first edition of “Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) Summit of Economic Leaders - The Summit of Three Continents”, that will take place in El Cairo (Egypt) at the end of April 2024.

  1. A global forum
  2. Debate on challenges

A global forum

This will be a global forum where economic and business leaders from Europe, the Middle East-Asia and Africa will work together and develop long-term sustainable solutions to facing private sector challenges.

The organization of the summit will be a first step of a serial initiatives that we will launch in the framework of the new collaboration agreement achieved in Doha last week between ASCAME and the following institutions: ICC World Chambers Federation, the Union of Arab Chambers, the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NAFCOC), the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA), the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and other organizations from the three continents.

Debate on challenges

Within this economic leaders forum, speakers and panelists will share their success stories, discuss critical obstacles and explore new perspectives and horizons for regional cooperation. To Anwar Zibaoui, General Coordinator of ASCAME, “the summit will be a great opportunity to find common solutions to empower chambers of commerce, entrepreneurs, women and the youth and to build coalitions of public and private partnerships with the aim of driving regional economic integration, prosperity and job creation.”

Mr. Zibaoui adds: “Working together, sharing knowledge and using combined experience, economic leaders from Europe, Middle East and Africa can achieve common goals, improve competitiveness and advance companies by pursuing future strategies that pave the way for sustainable growth. It is time to join forces and empower companies and people to drive change that benefits everyone, shaping the future of the economy in our regions and globally.”

The main objective of the summit is to improve the role of the private sector in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by launching a new platform to cooperate and facilitate trade and exchanges worldwide. Sessions will focus on how to build a Mediterranean trade hub that can contribute to economic growth and sustainable development; how to accelerate the digital transformation of the region and the connectivity of countries, and how to shape a more equitable future in the three continents.
