Avangrid ranks first among utilities on the JUST 100 list in the United States
Iberdrola, through Avangrid, its subsidiary in the United States, has been recognised for the fourth consecutive year on the annual JUST 100 list, the list of the best corporate leaders in the United States, published by JUST Capital and CNBC. The company has been ranked first among utilities, up from second place in 2023, and climbs in the overall rankings to number 12, up from 45 a year ago, for its commitment to serving its employees, customers, communities, environment and shareholders.
To earn the top spot, the company scored top marks in key areas such as human rights, community development, ethical leadership, customer service, transparent communication, social benefits, climate change, workplace improvements and sustainability.
The JUST 100 rankings are the means to learn how the nation's largest companies are performing on the business issues that matter most to Americans. The issues include paying a fair and living wage, creating jobs at home, supporting workforce retention and training, providing benefits and work-life balance, protecting customer privacy, minimising pollution, and more. These issues are defined annually through an extensive nationwide voting process. The top 100 companies, the JUST 100, are determined by scoring performance on each of the criteria and comparing companies head-to-head.
JUST Capital is an independent non-profit organisation that demonstrates how fair businesses, defined by the public's priorities, are better businesses. JUST's rankings reveal which companies are doing the best job of creating value for their stakeholders, and consistently show that the top-scoring companies also outperform their competitors financially.
