Aziz al-Hammouti: “ALSA es un ejemplo de entendimiento entre países”

Aziz al-Hammouti, director corporativo de Robles Sphère

In the special programme broadcast by Atalayar from the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), in collaboration with Europea Media, Aviación Digital and the International Press Club, we had the presence of Aziz al-Hammouti, corporate director of Robles Sphère, who pointed out what examples of integration such as ALSA in Morocco are necessary for integration and understanding between different cultures and countries.

What is the work ALSA has done in Morocco like?

ALSA is one of the best examples of success in Morocco and is an exportable model. In addition to developing a project and a long-term commitment, the ALSA Group has been committed to its workers and their families. They have not only been involved in urban transport, there have also been a series of joint actions such as, for example, with Real Madrid in a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) action with the children and families of workers in Morocco, as well as with UNICEF. ALSA, in parallel to its business activity in Morocco, has managed to open up a wider market in the country through very important CSR work. ALSA did not go to Morocco with a project to make a big buck, which nowadays does not exist anywhere in the world, but with a social commitment that has lasted in the long term.

ALSA in Morocco started in Agadir, moved on to Marrakech, then Tangier and is now present in Rabat and Casablanca. This has been possible thanks to the punctuality of the service, digitalisation through electronic ticketing, the cleanliness of its bus fleets, the quality of the service and monitoring, as well as hiring Moroccan staff, with a huge social commitment, most of the drivers in its fleets are women, facilitating their incorporation into the world of work, which is another example of the company's good work...

Indeed, a fact for those who do not know is that the Moroccan Ministry of Transport awarded us a prize for our work in incorporating women into the world of work. In Morocco there has been a before and after in urban transport thanks to ALSA, and Rabat in particular, where I can speak personally, is a clear example of all this. ALSA brought a digital transformation to the sector, adapted perfectly to the country and brought added value to urban transport in Morocco. With the incorporation of new and modern vehicles, without making any kind of cutback in quality compared to the service we provide in Spain.

The work dynamic between Spanish and Moroccan companies has not been affected by the political tints of certain governments.

Not at all, we have been working in this bilateral economic relationship between Spain and Morocco for more than a decade and the fruits of all this work are tangible, we have been working for more than a decade where Spain is Morocco's main partner and after the United States, Morocco is Spain's main export country. Contrary to popular belief, there is a great relationship of cooperation between the two countries, we are twinned countries and we are condemned to get along well, and we are delighted that this is the case. ALSA is an example of all this understanding between countries.
