On the part of Ayuda en Acción, these resources will be channelled through the 'Here too' programme against child poverty in Spain, providing food support to more than 1,000 vulnerable families who do not receive public or private aid. As part of the Red Cross Responds Programme, CAF resources will be used to cover 25,000 vulnerable families in the basic needs of health products and to provide accommodation for homeless people with chronic illnesses. In the case of Cáritas Española, the aid is allocated to its Shelter and Care Programme, which covers the basic needs of food, clothing, medicine and hygiene for vulnerable families and the homeless.

Since COVID-19 was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be a Public Health Emergency of International Importance (PHEI) and the Pan American Health Organization highlighted the high risk it poses to the region, CAF has made available a series of tools such as a contingent credit line of up to USD 50 million per country for direct attention to public health systems and the most critical sectors; in addition to the donation of essential inputs and support to the health sector for USD 400. 000 to Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay.
