The Costa del Sol, first Spanish destination to reach the Emirates after the pandemic
The Costa del Sol has been the first national destination to carry out a face-to-face promotion in the United Arab Emirates after the pandemic.
The aim of this action has been, according to the CEO of Costa del Sol Tourism, Margarita Del Cid, "to reconnect with this important market for the destination, a market that is seasonal in nature".
The promotion in this market has coincided on this occasion with the launch of the Etihad flight to Malaga, a great news, as Margarita Del Cid has indicated that "joins the commitment of other routes for our destination as Gulf Air, Qatar, Saudi, Kuwait Airways, which this summer and despite the circumstances offer more than 30,000 seats to Malaga.
The professionals of the Costa del Sol, who have participated in this promotional trip, have maintained contact in Dubai with fifteen top luxury accounts, and have had various professional meetings, with an intense networking activity.
In the case of Abu Dhabi, meetings were held with the five main luxury agency accounts and a meeting with Etihad to evaluate possible future actions.
This intense programme with trade and media, which took place on 6, 7 and 8 July, was reinforced by the presence of businessmen from the destination, the director of the Spanish tourism office in Abu Dhabi and the collaboration of Turismo Andaluz.
The CEO of Costa del Sol Tourism, Margarita Del Cid, has valued very positively that the province of Malaga has been the first Spanish destination to reappear in the United Arab Emirates and one of the first with respect to international competitors, because this fact means that we are ahead taking positions, and taking into account that Malaga-Costa del Sol and mainly the Marbella brand enjoy a good brand reputation in this market.
This promotional trip has also explored a new path in the field of communication with a meeting with influencers and important press headlines with the aim of giving visibility to the destination.
The important thing is, according to the CEO of Costa del Sol Tourism, that "this promotion ends with a significant number of firm bookings, and continues with the visit of an influencer, actress and presenter to the destination in the coming days".
During her stay she will seek with her publications to give visibility to the destination as a lifestyle space, with the best experiences in shopping, lifestyle, gastronomy, spa, nightlife, starlite; "authentic experiences that have the Costa del Sol Malaga seal", concluded Margarita Del Cid.
