Dakhla continues to show itself to the world and to offer its various attractions, with various entities showing increasing interest in this region of the southern provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Now, different memorandums are in line to increase investments in the area thanks to the latest protocols signed during the Dakhla International Investors Forum held on 18 and 19 September, which have promoted investments in the region equipped with assets and qualified human capital for regional socio-economic development. This has put the spotlight on the economic and infrastructural potential of the area.
The agreements were sealed by the President of the Council of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Yanja El Khattat, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Jamal Boussif, the President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce of Morocco, Christophe De Figueiredo, and the President of the Fundación Andalucía Territorio Empresa, Carlos Carmona Romá.
Also taking part in these agreements were the president of the Association of Moroccan Jews in Mexico, Moises Amselem El Baz, the vice-president of the Spanish Academy of Diplomacy, Francisco Antonio González, and the president of the Nord Sud Action association, Omar El Alaoui El Balrhiti, which works in the field of communication, socio-economic development and investment incentives, as reported by News.es Euro.
The Dakhla International Investors Forum was organised by the Council of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region, in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade under the theme "The Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, future growth centre for international companies".
The event was an opportunity to support foreign chambers of commerce in Morocco, as well as economic projects under the auspices of the embassies accredited in the Alawi kingdom. All focused on boosting multinational companies interested in setting up in the region and facilitating the economic development of the area.
Among those attending the forum were diplomats, businessmen and investors, who enjoyed presentations and sectoral panels that delved into the different productive sectors and infrastructure projects in the area, with the opportunity also to familiarise themselves with investment in sectors of activity with high added value.
The discussions offered during the investment summit covered various sectors such as energy, mining, tourism, industry, commerce, infrastructure, logistics, fisheries and agriculture.
Two of the participating entities stand out for their capacity for economic promotion, such as Nord Sud Action and the Fundación Andalucía Territorio Empresa.
Nord Sud Action's objective is to "contribute to and support the development dynamic in the southern provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco and to establish a modern and attractive way of communicating its assets in order to attract national and international investment", as its president, Omar El Alaoui El Balrhiti, acknowledged in an interview with Atalayar.
Nord Sud Action has set itself several missions to "increase awareness of the region throughout the world by promoting the necessary communication, both in print and digital media, to transmit information in the industrial and service sectors, as well as in tourism and leisure".
For its part, the Andalucía Territorio Empresa Foundation is a private foundation that seeks to promote the development of sustainable territorial strategies that generate environments for the advancement of innovation in the business and industrial fabric of Andalusia, promote economic development strategies through culture to boost cultural industries and companies, to promote the development of collaborative networks to activate business entrepreneurship and progress in training and education to promote talent in and from Andalusia in order to improve competitiveness, grow and create added value in the territory, to support and develop healthy initiatives open to people and to exchange and internationalisation and to collaborate with all types of organisations and academic institutions to promote the development and attraction of talent, research and enable the transfer of knowledge.
