The three nations have reached an agreement to promote greater coordination in renewable energy, energy efficiency, oil and natural gas

Emirates, United States and Israel agree on energy strategy

Flags to symbolise the energy agreement

Little by little, the Abraham Agreements are beginning to materialise and cooperation between the Emirates and Israel is consolidating day by day. The latest sign of this is the agreement on a joint strategy for the energy sector signed by the Emirates, the United States and Israel, as announced in a joint statement published on Thursday by the WAM news agency. The three countries say they have agreed to promote greater coordination in the energy sector, including renewables, energy efficiency, oil and natural gas resources, as well as technologies such as water desalination.

Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, a cabinet member and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Emirates, the US Secretary of State, Dan Brouillette, and the Israeli Energy Minister, Yuval Steinitz, recognise that energy collaboration can be a step towards a more stable, integrated and prosperous Middle East, and that this partnership can boost innovation and prosperity.

To maximize the overall benefits of cooperation, the three countries have committed to explore collective activities in multilateral settings in coordination with financial institutions and the private sector to enhance international investment in research and development. On 13 August the White House announced the normalisation of relations between the UAE and the Hebrew nation after an agreement was reached following 18 months of talks in which the American country took part.
