Indra, Escribano and TRC join forces in a more advanced solution to counter drone countermeasures
Indra, Escribano and TRC have signed a collaboration agreement to present a solution to counteract drones (C-UAS) that responds to the needs and requirements of the Armed Forces in the area of operations. The agreement includes the formalisation of a joint venture between the companies Escribano and Indra, with TRC as a partner of the latter.
The three companies have extensive experience in the technologies involved, having worked on operationally tested C-UAS solutions, both for the Air and Space Forces (Indra's CROW system to provide coverage to military bases and singular events); and for the Army (where Escribano collaborates with TRC in the CERVUS project - a solution deployed on vehicles); as well as in naval solutions in which Indra and Escribano are currently collaborating for the Navy.
All three companies have consolidated and proven technologies. The union and integration of their capabilities could provide greater protection and security to the Armed Forces against new threats on the battlefield through a comprehensive C-UAS solution, which will be adapted for easy deployment and integration in land and naval platforms, or for the protection of critical infrastructures.
This union will allow the addition of critical capabilities to work on a much more complete and advanced solution aimed at meeting the requirements of the Armed Forces, taking into account the specialisation, operational experience and knowledge obtained from the deployments already carried out.
Indra and Escribano are already engaged in collaborations related to anti-drone systems, such as the European Jey-CUAS project, the proposal for the overlapping BACO project expected to start in 2025, or the participation in the future European E-CUAS project to be launched also in 2025. In addition, Indra and Escribano have already formalised a joint venture for the development of a directed energy laser weapon system to counter drones (DIAL programme).
Now they have joined forces once again, with TRC technology to reinforce the industrial base of the joint venture with its advanced capabilities and solutions through an industrial plan that will promote the creation of national strategic capabilities, investment in R&D&I, the positioning of national industry in Europe and, above all, the commitment of the three companies to promote territorial cohesion and industrial collaboration, all of which are principles of the EID 2023 Defence Industrial Strategy.
This closes a circle of collaboration that began in July 2022 at the NATO summit, when the companies were selected to showcase their different C-UAS technologies, and which culminates with the signing of this strategic industrial collaboration agreement, in which the three companies seal their commitment to collaborate in the application of cutting-edge C-UAS technologies.
