Halieutis Salon returns to Agadir for its 7th edition, focusing on innovation and fisheries research
The seventh edition will be held from February 06 to 09 in Agadir. Over 450 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors expected. More than 50 countries expected

Zakia Driouich, Secretary of State to the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fishing, Rural Development and Water and Forests, in charge of Maritime Fishing, visited on Friday the site of the Halieutis trade show to see how the final preparations for this seventh edition were progressing.
Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI the 7th edition of the Salon Halieutis will be held from 06 to 09 February 2025 at the Parc des expositions in Agadir, and will welcome the general public from 08 to 09 February 2025,
Under the theme “Research and innovation for a sustainable fisheries sector”, this event reflects the Kingdom of Morocco's firm commitment to making scientific research a strategic lever for ensuring the sustainability of fisheries resources and the competitiveness of Morocco's fishing and aquaculture industries.
The event will bring together major players in the fishing, seafood processing and aquaculture sectors, as well as in fisheries research, thus consolidating the key role of this flagship event on the international fisheries scene.
At the end of her visit, the Secretary of State emphasized that this flagship event, which is part of the calendar of major events, will be held over an area of 20,000 m² at the Agadir Exhibition Centre, and is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors, with more than 450 exhibitors from over 50 countries, including 7 new countries, 4 of which are participating for the first time: South Korea, the United Kingdom, India and the Sultanate of Oman.

For this seventh edition, the interest of professionals is confirmed, as it has been in previous editions: as of January 10, 2025, 97% of the exhibition space had been sold, and all the Show's halls had extremely satisfactory occupancy rates, confirmed the Secretary of State.
During her visit to the show site, the Secretary of State pointed out that the marine fishing sector plays a crucial role in Morocco's economy and social development, contributing around 1.1% of the country's GDP. Fish production reached around 1.42 MT in 2024, with a value of some 16.2 MMDH. It also generates significant foreign currency through exports, which in 2024 recorded sales of around 27.4 MMDH (according to preliminary data from Morocco Foodex) and generated more than 261,000 direct jobs, including 113,845 direct jobs at sea in 2023: “Since its first edition in 2011, the Halieutis trade show has established itself as the must-attend event for maritime fishing professionals, as well as an indispensable reference for discovering the latest innovations in the sector,” said Ms. Driouich.

- Fleet & gear: presentation of the latest innovations in naval technologies and sustainable fishing.
- Adding value & processes: solutions to improve the seafood value chain.
- Innovation: highlighting emerging technologies and industry trends.

- International: opportunities for cooperation and partnerships on a global scale.
- Sustainable development: the show highlights initiatives for responsible, sustainable fishing.

By choosing the theme “Research and innovation for a sustainable fishing industry”, the Halieutis trade show is part of a dynamic of reflection and action in the face of global challenges: climate change, increasing scarcity of fish stocks, changing consumer habits and the transition to a blue economy.
This year's event will open the way for concrete solutions to support decision-makers in managing the preservation of resources, as well as assisting and supporting the diversification of production. It will also provide an opportunity to forge stronger partnerships between research institutes, involving the sharing of best practices and an awareness of a common future.
