Iberdrola appoints new CEO in Mexico
Katya Somohano Silva has assumed the position of CEO of Iberdrola Mexico with the responsibility of leading a new stage of growth for the company in the country, with the boost of the local team and the support of the Iberdrola Group, focused on the development of clean energy projects.
Ignacio Galán, Chairman of the Iberdrola Group, stated that "after an excellent track record inside and outside Iberdrola Mexico, Katya Somohano assumes the leadership of the company at the head of a young and diverse, but very experienced team. I am confident that, under her leadership, Iberdrola Mexico will continue to invest, create more jobs and provide the best service to Mexicans.
Katya Somohano is originally from Mexico City. She holds a law degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a postgraduate degree in law from the University of Cambridge in the UK. In 2018, she completed the Senior Management programme at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE) and completed the Innovation Programme at Harvard Business School.
