The judge of the Audiencia Nacional, Manuel García Castellón, has approved the dismissal of the charges against him for crimes of continuous active bribery, crime against privacy and continuous crime of falsification of commercial documents committed by a private individual.

The head of the Central Court of Instruction 6 upheld the request of Galán's defence, who had been, until now, under investigation for having allegedly committed these types of offences.

According to the magistrate's explanation, Sánchez Galán's indictment was linked to the 'Arrow' (from 2004 to 2006), 'Black Board' or 'B-B' (2004 and 2005) and the 'Gipsy' and 'Posy' projects (2009), when he had served as vice-president, then as CEO of Iberdrola and subsequently, since 2006, as chairman of Iberdrola. According to the court order, the work was allegedly carried out by Villarejo through the Cenyt Group while he was working in the National Police Force.

The judge of the Audiencia Nacional based the dismissal of the case against Sánchez Galán on the order of the Third Section of the Criminal Chamber 266/2022, approved on 3 June, in which the magistrates resolved the appeal of another defendant for the same crimes that Galán had been accused of, which would have taken place up to March 2009.
