To deal with the damage caused by Hurricane Helene
Iberdrola's US subsidiary Avangrid's distributors in New York (NYSEG and RG&E), Connecticut (UI) and Maine (CMP) have deployed 200 line crews and damage assessment professionals to address the damage caused by Hurricane Helene and support efforts to restore power to communities in Virginia and North Carolina.
The Category 4 hurricane made landfall off the southeast coast of Florida last Thursday night with winds of 225 kilometres per hour, and made its way northward across the United States with torrential rains and winds that have caused devastating scenes that rescue and recovery teams are still working on today.
