Iberdrola is the cleanest utility in the world

Iberdrola is the cleanest utility in the world, according to the ‘Clean200’ ranking produced by Corporate Knights and As You Sow. This list shows the companies that are leading the transition to a clean energy future.
The company chaired by Ignacio Galán is once again at the forefront of sustainability and corporate reputation, according to the Clean200 ranking, which identifies the 200 largest listed companies based on their clean revenue. The list ranks companies according to the definitions established in Corporate Knights' Sustainable Economy Taxonomy.
Clean200 is a joint project between As You Sow, a leading non-profit shareholder advocacy organisation that promotes values-aligned investing, and Corporate Knights, a research and media company focused on accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy.
This distinction is in addition to Iberdrola leading the electricity sector in the Sustainability Yearbook 2025, produced by S&P, having received the Top 1% S&P Global CSA Score distinction. Europe's largest electricity company by market capitalisation has obtained the best score in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices, the former Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
This leadership is in addition to the fact that Iberdrola has been in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices for 25 consecutive years, making it the only European utility to have been present in the index for all that time.
Iberdrola is a world leader in sustainability. For yet another year, it has received the highest rating of ‘A List’ from CDP in the list of the world's most transparent companies on climate change, thanks to its commitment to disclosure, transparency and environmental action. In addition to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class, it is present in the main international sustainability indices such as Moody's ESG, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS-ESG, EcoVadis and FTSE4Good, among many others.
Self-sufficiency and the fight against climate change
Iberdrola continues to make progress in its commitment to energy self-sufficiency and in its proactive role as an active agent in the fight against climate change. Iberdrola already exceeds 44,000 megawatts (MW) of installed renewable capacity worldwide and has an emission-free electricity production of 84%.
