Iberdrola presents the Supplier of the Year 2024 awards in Mexico
Iberdrola Mexico recognised eight companies at the Supplier of the Year Awards 2024 for their high standards in sustainability, ethics and shared well-being, key to creating a supply chain for industrial decarbonisation.
In 2023, the energy company purchased more than USD 185 million worth of goods and services, with 73% coming from local companies. This year, that percentage increased to 84%.
‘Iberdrola Mexico wants no one to be left behind in the energy transition. For this, the work of our suppliers, who are strategic allies of the company and catalysts for change, is essential,’ said Katya Somohano, CEO of Iberdrola Mexico, during the awards ceremony in Mexico City.
At an event in front of more than a hundred attendees, including suppliers from various sectors and company staff, the executive stressed that the companies that supply goods and services to Iberdrola Mexico are characterised by their ‘high quality standards’ and common values that allow them to continue strengthening ‘the industrial and social fabric’ of the country and, in turn, to promote the company's new renewable projects. ‘Without sustainability, no company has a future’, he stressed.
Iberdrola Mexico has more than 6,500 registered suppliers, more than 90% of which are of national origin. In 2023, the energy company made purchases of more than 185 million dollars - 73% from local companies - a percentage that rose to 84% in 2024.
In its 25-year history in the country, the company has invested more than 6 billion dollars in goods and services.

Commitment to sustainability
The 5th edition of the Supplier of the Year Awards had the slogan ‘Allies for green industrialisation’ and had eight categories that highlight the companies' commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, the well-being of the workforce and the social dividend, among other items.
With the recognition of its suppliers, Iberdrola Mexico promotes the strengthening of the national industry and the sustainable energy development of the country.
