The Asociación de Directivos de Comunicación (Dircom) has awarded Iberdrola for its "Huella Positiva" initiative, which was launched in 2021 to raise awareness of the favourable impact of renewable installations in rural areas of Spain in terms of biodiversity, the demographic challenge and the environment.

This project, carried out in collaboration with the Prensa Ibérica group, included multimedia content such as videos, interviews, infographics and photographs. Its aim was to highlight the fact that Iberdrola is a stable partner with a vocation for permanence in the areas in which it is installed.  80% of its suppliers are local, each employee hired by Iberdrola generates 10 indirect jobs and it has awarded more than 22,000 million euros to suppliers since the pandemic broke out.

The initiative has generated more than 150,000 visits to the "Huella Positiva" hub, each content has had more than 20,000 unique users, readers have spent more than two minutes on each content, there have been more than 1,700 multimedia reproductions and, most importantly, it has generated a change in the perception of the environment and society towards renewable energies.
