Iberdrola, and its US subsidiary Avangrid, have been recognised by the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce of Florida with the Ponce de León 2024 award in the ‘Company of the Year’ category, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to innovation in the energy sector.

‘We are very proud of this recognition. For more than two decades, Iberdrola has been implementing - in the United States and around the world - a secure, competitive and sustainable energy model based on electrification.

Our investments in renewables, grids, and storage have resulted in total assets in the United States of around 50 billion dollars. This is generating value for shareholders, employees, suppliers and the communities we serve, through increased activity, industry and employment, cutting-edge innovation and lower emissions.

As we move into the electricity age, the United States will establish itself as a key growth area for Iberdrola, with investments of up to 30 billion dollars through 2030 to increase interconnections between states, introduce 21st century AI and digital grid technologies to the 10 million Americans we serve, as well as build some of the country's first large-scale offshore wind farms. Our commitment to the American people is stronger than ever‘.
