The Air Health Corridor, promoted by Iberia, Fenin and Grupo Oesía, has made it possible to bring more than 300 tons of medical material to Spain and make it available to hospitals throughout the country in a total of ten operations.

In the last twenty days, Iberia planes chartered by the participating companies have arrived in Spain full of various types of masks, gloves, chemical suits and essential items for the manufacture of respirators, according to a video presented by the president of Grupo Oesia, Luis Furnells; the general secretary of the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (FENIM), Margarita Alfonsel; and the sales director of Iberia, Guillermo González.

The last of these operations, with two flights over the weekend, has added up to a total of 35 tons of material, including a donation from Gestamp of material acquired in China for the hospitals that have a greater urgency for it. These include 100,000 FFP2 masks, 100,000 surgical masks and 50,000 gloves.

Gestamp is a Spanish multinational company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of metal parts for the main vehicle manufacturers. Its products range from bodywork, chassis and mechanisms. The company is present in 23 countries with 112 production plants, 13 R&D centres and a workforce of around 43,000 employees worldwide.

Gestamp's donation is the second one that a company in our country makes through the Corredor Aéreo Sanitario, following the one made by Novartis Spain for a value of one million dollars.

The Corridor is also the means used by a micro-patronage promoted by nine former students of the international business school INSEAD. Those responsible for the campaign have already opened the second phase of collection of its campaign 'GOFUND ME', which aims to help the Hospital Ramón y Cajal.

The Air Health Corridor is open to requests for importing materials from public administrations and companies that require it. You can contact its coordination center through the mail CorredorSanitario@oesia.com and the telephone: 91 021 32 34.
