Ignacio Corlazzoli, new CAF's Europe, Asia and Middle East manager
The executive president of CAF -development bank of Latin America-, Sergio Díaz-Granados, has appointed Ignacio Corlazzoli as CAF's Europe, Asia and Middle East manager, replacing José Antonio García Belaunde, CAF's representative in Europe since December 2018.
Corlazzoli, who assumes this new responsibility after an extensive and successful career at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will establish different strategic lines to position CAF in Europe, Asia and the Middle East as the green bank and the economic reactivation of Latin America and the Caribbean. Among the objectives of the new management are also to attract international financial resources to promote sustainable development in the region.
The new manager of CAF's Office for Europe, Asia and the Middle East has an important professional career at the IDB, where he has held numerous positions, such as representative in Colombia, representative in Europe and Israel, advisor to the Office of the Presidency; leading specialist in the Office of Strategic Alliances, advisor for Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia before the Board of Executive Directors, specialist in State Modernisation Operations in Mexico, Central America, Panama, Dominican Republic and Haiti, Country Coordinator for Belize and Haiti and Operations consultant.
Corlazzoli holds a law degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and an MSc International Social and Public Policy and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
