Indra Group and HUNOSA reach agreement to study locations for promoting industrial and technological projects in Asturias
Indra Group and Grupo HUNOSA have reached an agreement to collaborate in the search for spaces where projects can be developed that reinforce Asturias' role as an industrial and technological benchmark in Spain and Europe. The agreement covers the identification and reuse of HUNOSA's industrial land and facilities in the region where it is possible to develop technological innovation, sustainability and defence initiatives promoted by Indra.
Within the framework of this agreement, the two companies agree to establish the basis for cooperation and collaboration in identifying industrial sites in the mining areas of Asturias for potential industrial uses or long-term engineering development, as well as in relation to innovation projects related to sustainability and energy for the defence industry.
As a leading group in energy and environmental services, HUNOSA will contribute its knowledge and experience in the Asturian territory, its capacity for the restoration and reuse of industrial land and facilities, as well as industrial and non-industrial land located in the mining areas of Asturias.
For its part, Indra Group will contribute its technological and business capabilities in management, innovation and internationalisation, as well as its advanced technological solutions, with the aim of making Asturias the nerve centre of its terrestrial platform production and integration activity.
Ángel Escribano, executive chairman of Indra Group, emphasised: ‘Our goal is to continue strengthening our industrial capabilities and contribute to the economic development of Asturias to position the region and Spain as a powerhouse within the European market.’
For its part, Grupo HUNOSA stressed that ‘collaboration agreements such as the one signed are in line with Grupo HUNOSA's commitment, in its role as a driving force, to economic development and the generation of activity in mining regions.’
Both companies agree that this step is a milestone in the reindustrialisation of Asturias and opens the door to the development of projects aimed at innovation, sustainability and the creation of quality jobs in the near future.
