Indra signs an agreement with the UAE cybersecurity company Katim to market ultra-secure mobile communications solutions

Indra and Katim form a strategic alliance to offer NATO countries the most cutting-edge solutions for handling confidential information 

Indra has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Katim, a company specialising in cybersecurity belonging to the Edge defence group, to collaborate on the certification and commercialisation of advanced, ultra-secure mobile phone solutions to protect the communications of government agencies and allied countries.

The signing took place on Monday at Idex, one of the most important defence fairs in the world, held in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February, a forum in which Indra is holding meetings with companies and authorities from different countries and showcasing cutting-edge solutions that reinforce its role as a technology partner for the countries in the region, with which it has been working in recent years on various projects critical to their security and defence. The company stands out as a leading company in air defence, electronic defence, command and control systems, anti-drone and border protection systems, simulation and constellation management platforms, among other areas. It is also incorporating cutting-edge technologies linked to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, advanced communications and virtual reality to enhance the capabilities of the most advanced armies in the world.


Following the signing of this agreement, Indra and Katim will work together on the certification of mobile phone solutions with NATO Confidential and national level security.

To this end, they will adapt their respective solutions to the specific needs of each client. Both companies will be involved in the control of the entire supply chain to offer complete reliability to the end user.

Among other systems, Indra has COMSec, a secure communications solution that provides encrypted voice, instant messaging and video services on mobile phones via any cellular, wireless or satellite network worldwide, adapted for use in government, military and other organisations and companies. For its part, Katim offers, among other products, an ultra-secure mobile terminal that uses a multi-layer encryption model that provides first-rate protection and security features. Built using a security-by-design approach, Katim phones prioritise security from the outset, surpassing industry best practices.

This collaboration will allow both companies to offer their systems to different countries, agencies and institutions, including NATO countries and in particular the Spanish Ministry of Defence.
