The Indra Group Board of Directors has unanimously agreed to appoint Frank Torres as CEO of Indra Land Vehicles and head of the Cross-cutting Programmes and Quality unit as Chief Programme Officer (CPO) of Indra Group, as well as a member of the Management Committee. His appointment has been agreed following a favourable report from the Appointments, Remuneration and Corporate Governance Committee.

With this new addition, the company consolidates its strategic commitment to the development of industrial capabilities in the field of land defence.

With more than 30 years of professional experience in the automotive sector, in areas such as manufacturing, complex project management and international vehicle development and production strategy, Frank Torres brings solid experience in leadership and business transformation that positions him as a benchmark in the execution of large-scale strategic programmes.

Torres has held various senior positions at Nissan, including president of Nissan India, head of Industrial Operations for the company in Spain, and Regional Divisional Vice President of Business Transformation & Alliance at Nissan AMEIO. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the UPC in Barcelona, an International MBA (EUNCET – UPC, Terrassa), a PADE (IESE) and an Executive Programme in Global Strategy Management (Harvard).

With the arrival of Frank Torres, Indra Group continues to strengthen its industrial and technological ecosystem, in line with the objectives of national sovereignty and modernisation of land defence capabilities. "The addition of Frank Torres reinforces our commitment to talent and operational excellence. His international experience and leadership skills will be fundamental in addressing the strategic challenges ahead. Indra Group is moving forward with its commitment to concentrate the manufacture of high-value platforms for the defence sector with 100% Spanish technology in Asturias through Indra Land Vehicles," said José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra Group.

In his new role, Torres will be responsible for driving the development of advanced solutions for military land vehicles, coordinating the group's main programmes and strengthening synergies between the company's different business areas. His global vision and management skills will be key to consolidating the company's position as a leading technology partner in defence at European level.

Land Vehicles Division

Indra Land Vehicles is a key part of Indra Group's ambitious “Leading the Future” Strategic Plan, which aims to position the company as a global player in the defence and aerospace industry by 2030. The Land Vehicles unit, created in 2025, aims to design, produce and integrate tracked and wheeled military vehicles, and will be a fundamental pillar in future European collaborative defence programmes.

The new land vehicle subsidiary has become the industrial growth engine of the company, which has been strengthened by the recent acquisition of the El Tallerón industrial plant in Gijón. These facilities will be the nerve centre of the division and the production centre for armoured vehicles and land structures, with 100% Spanish technology.

The Gijón plant, acquired in July, covers more than 75,000 square metres and will be equipped with state-of-the-art automation, robotics and advanced welding technologies to install new military vehicle manufacturing and assembly lines. The project involves the integration of more than 150 professionals, as well as a significant investment in modernisation and training.

Thanks to this acquisition, Indra increases its industrial capabilities and positions itself as a benchmark in the Spanish and European defence sector. It also continues with its strategy to make Asturias the nerve centre of all its land platform production activity, with enormous growth potential in Spain and the rest of the European market due to growing demand.
