It consolidates its position as a supplier of simulators for NAV CANADA through Micro Nav

Indra, through Micro Nav, has signed a framework agreement with NAV CANADA, Canada's air navigation service provider, to become its technology supplier of simulators for the training of its entire national network of air traffic controllers and air traffic management professionals, with the aim of supporting its programme of modernisation and standardisation of training.

Through the agreement, NAV CANADA will implement Micro Nav's BEST simulation platform, which will enable comprehensive data-driven modernisation of its simulation environment. Once deployed, it will support the training of current and future generations of air traffic professionals.

The solution incorporates artificial intelligence voice recognition, highly realistic 3D tower visualisations, agile scenario and data creation tools, and connectivity with operating systems for training and validation purposes. The platform has a flexible design that ensures training professionals maintain full control over data management, system configuration and usage requirements. This new technology will also modernise the way air traffic services (ATS) professionals are trained and provide the scalability and resilience needed to support long-term operational needs.

Víctor Martínez, Managing Director of ATM at Indra Group, highlighted that "this agreement represents another step forward in our goal of growing in North America and strengthens our collaboration with NAV CANADA in a new area, namely advanced air traffic simulation, through Micro Nav. We are proud that NAV CANADA continues to place its trust in us and our technology, and we will contribute to and support its plans and vision for more efficient and sustainable aviation."

‘The selection of Micro Nav's BEST platform is key to the modernisation of our national training infrastructure,’ said David Sheppard, Vice President and Chief Technology and Information Officer at NAV CANADA. ‘This technology provides a scalable and resilient foundation that supports our long-term training modernisation goals.’

‘This agreement reinforces our commitment to developing and training the next generation of air traffic services professionals,’ said Diana Kelly, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at NAV CANADA. ‘Modern, high-fidelity simulation technology will enhance the way our students and instructors learn and collaborate to meet the challenges of today's aviation environment and prepare for those of the future.’

“This collaboration represents a significant milestone for both organisations,” said Greg Pile, Chief Executive Officer of Micro Nav. “NAV CANADA’s selection of our BEST technology reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class ATC simulation technology that meets the evolving needs of modern air navigation service providers. We look forward to working closely with NAV CANADA to bring their training modernisation programme to fruition."

With this contract, Indra reinforces its commitment to NAV CANADA, a member of the iTEC Alliance, through which the leading air navigation service providers in Europe and Canada collaborate on the joint development of advanced and standardised solutions for air traffic management. Indra thus consolidates and strengthens the strategic relationship between the two organisations.
