Indra, winner at the Transport Ticketing Awards 2025

Indra Ticketing Transport
For its innovative interoperable and multimodal ticketing technology

Indra's advanced ticketing technology for T-mobilitat has won an award at the Transport Ticketing Awards 2025 in the category ‘Best Smart Ticketing Programme - More than one million daily trips’.

The award, presented in London during Transport Ticketing Global 2025, the world's leading ticketing event, recognises the most innovative projects in mobility solutions. Indra was nominated in five of the eight categories of these prestigious awards, demonstrating the company's leadership in this sector.

Indra's multimodal and interoperable T-mobilitat platform integrates more than 70 metro, bus, tram and suburban rail operators into a single technological solution that allows the more than 7.5 million inhabitants of the Barcelona metropolitan area to travel using an integrated fare system. Its implementation has meant a great advance in the digitalisation of public transport, significantly improving the user experience and optimising the operational efficiency of the system.

‘The award recognises Indra's ability to manage innovative and highly complex projects involving both public entities and private companies, demonstrating the company's commitment to the development of sustainable mobility platforms that focus on the traveller. With T-mobilitat, the company is contributing to the transformation of mobility, making it more efficient, sustainable and citizen-oriented, qualities present in all our urban transport solutions,’ said Raúl Ripio, Indra's General Manager of Mobility & Technology.

Indra's leadership in the mobility sector has also been reflected in the award given to Dbus, the bus operator in San Sebastián-Donostia, which has been distinguished in the category of operators with less than 200,000 daily trips, for its ticketing system, developed with Indra's technology.

During the event, Indra showcased its most innovative solutions for automatic ticket sales and access control, which guarantee a better user experience thanks to an aesthetic and usability similar to that of a smartphone and the incorporation of technology for direct validation with a bank card (EMV), mobile phone or smartwatch. Specifically, it has presented the systems developed for the Riyadh Metro, which are being incorporated throughout the city's public transport metro and bus network.

As a leading company in smart mobility, Indra is committed to the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as Be-In-Be-Out (BIBO) automatic validation, Account Based Ticketing (ABT) and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platforms, which help optimise travel planning and guarantee the best fare and experience for each user.

With more than 2,500 mobility projects in more than 100 cities around the world, Indra continues to promote solutions that make transport and mobility more efficient, safe and sustainable in large cities such as Riyadh, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Madrid, Sydney and Manila.

Among its latest projects, the contract for the integral management of the ticketing system for the entire public transport network in Ireland stands out, including the tram, buses, and the national railway network, as well as the future Dublin Metro, something that consolidates its position as a key technological partner in the transformation of urban mobility.
