Marruecos y Emiratos Árabes acercan posturas en la cooperación energética

Morocco and the United Arab Emirates continue to take joint steps to promote cooperation and understanding between the two countries. This time the energy sector has been the common link that has united the two Arab countries after a Moroccan delegation met with the director and members of the Chamber of Industry and Industry of Fujairah, in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Rue20, the Emirati delegation, composed of the Director of Mines and Hydrocarbons of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Abdelali Lefdawi, and the head of the Methods and Services Division of the Directorate of Mines of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), Abderrazak Hamzaou, presented to the Moroccan delegation the progress that has been achieved thanks to joint work in the development of both the energy and mining sectors in Morocco.

After seeing the results, the Moroccan delegation present at the 16th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources emphasised the objective of "achieving sustainable development" with these projects. Along these lines, Morocco intends to continue "increasing efforts" in fields such as "research, exploration and logistical services". All this with the aim of attracting new investments in the framework of the ambitious strategy of the Alaouite kingdom in the mining sector for 2025.
Likewise, the director general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Fujairah, Sultan Al-Handasi, showed the investment environment in the Emirates of Fujairah, especially in terms of refining, oil and logistics services.
Diplomatic relations between Morocco and the UAE are going through a very positive moment. The opening of a consulate in Laayoune by the Emirates was a very significant event for the Alawite kingdom, since the Emirati country was the first to open a consulate in this region.

With this opening, the secretary general of the Emirates International Investors Council, Jamal Seif Al-Jarwan, indicated that this zoan "harbours great investment opportunities that must be seized". Likewise, Al-Jarwan pointed out the efforts being made by Morocco to boost economic recovery and emphasised "the depth of Moroccan-Emirati relations" between "two brotherly countries".
In this context, the significant investment made by the Emirates in Morocco has made it the leading Arab investor, and it is currently the third largest foreign investor in the world.

This good cooperation is also the result of the Emirates' position on Western Sahara. The Emirate has repeatedly demonstrated its support for both the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Sahara in Morocco, a position openly defended in the kingdom.
