‘Morocco is a land of opportunity for investors’
As experts in assisting transport companies on routes across Europe, Andamur is an authoritative voice on the logistics and transport sector. In this interview with Atalayar, during the 11th edition of the Spanish-Moroccan Business Meeting organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Tangier, Noureddine Karrachi explains what Morocco has to offer in this sector.
What services does Andamur offer its customers?
Andamur is a company that specialises in offering comprehensive services to transport operators on their routes across Europe: fuel cards, toll devices, VAT and excise duty recovery. There are more than 1,400 stations that form part of the Andamur network in Europe, offering transport operators coverage, security and quality services on the continent's main logistics corridors.
In addition to these 1,400 stations that form part of our network in Europe, we have nine of our own service areas in strategic locations in Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Poland. In this way, Andamur reaffirms its commitment to continue growing and offering comprehensive solutions for professional transport, both in Spain and the rest of Europe.
What are the most attractive sectors in Morocco for the company's future projects?
Andamur sees the transport and logistics sector as a very attractive sector, given Morocco's strategic geographical position as a gateway to Africa and just 14 kilometres from Spain. This represents a great opportunity for us, as it is a market that is continuously growing and in which we want to have a significant presence. We have been collaborating with Morocco for four years, connecting the country with nine European countries. However, we aspire to establish ourselves in the country in the future, in order to offer our services to this sector on the African continent as well.
We are currently carrying out commercial work in Morocco, trying to offer the best possible solutions. These are solutions tailored to the profile of the carrier. Our goal is that once a transport company arrives in Algeciras to begin its route to Europe, it automatically thinks of Andamur and the comprehensive solutions we can provide. We are talking about service areas dedicated to heavy transport and professional transport, toll devices, tax recovery and secure parking for lorries.
How do you see Morocco's economic and industrial development in recent years?
We are witnessing significant growth in the Moroccan market, as the economy is doing much better. A very significant generational change is also noticeable. And that is something we have to take advantage of for the future.
It should also be borne in mind that the 2030 World Cup will give Morocco international visibility. It will be a huge change for the country, towards development and prosperity. Economically, Morocco's progress is already being seen, thanks to the reforms carried out and the infrastructure megaprojects launched.
What can you tell us about the company's commitment to sustainability and decarbonisation?
At Andamur, we are the first company in the sector to obtain the carbon footprint seal, with ISO 14064-1 certification. This certification reflects our commitment to the environment. In fact, we promote sustainability within the company by installing solar panels, for example.
For us, it is very important not only to offer the service to transporters, but to do so with the highest quality standards, respecting the environment. It is essential to focus not only on the customer and quality, offering services at competitive prices, but also on the environmental aspect as a fundamental axis.
The integration of solar energy is part of our strategy to transition to a cleaner and more responsible energy model, actively contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the efficient use of natural resources.
