Morocco, new epicentre of technology entrepreneurship with the arrival of the Founder Institute
The globally recognised startup accelerator, Founder Institute (FI), has announced the launch of its programme in Morocco. This programme, designed specifically to support early-stage entrepreneurs, offers world-class mentoring and high-quality coaching with the aim of transforming innovative ideas into successful businesses.
With its arrival in Morocco, the institute aims to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Startup founders in Morocco will have access to a structured programme, internationally recognised and adapted to the particularities of the Moroccan market. As La Vie Éco reports, this programme provides a privileged connection with a network of mentors and investors, both local and international, as well as with former participants of the programme. This fosters knowledge sharing and facilitates access to essential resources for the growth of their projects.
The programme, which will be run in a largely digital format, is aimed at ambitious entrepreneurs looking to launch high-potential businesses. Sessions will include practical workshops, case studies and one-to-one mentoring sessions with local and international experts.
Hicham Sentissi, Omar Layachi and Youssef Koun, heads of the Founder Institute in Morocco, underline that ‘the programme is an exceptional opportunity for Moroccan entrepreneurs to move from the idea stage to realisation, with the support of a global community of leaders in the technology and business sector’. They also announced that they have ‘high hopes that this programme will have a significant impact on the ecosystem, with a desire to include companies of all sizes in our initiative’.
Registrations for the first cohort are now open, inviting start-ups or those with accelerating companies to apply. The first Founder Institute Morocco launch event is scheduled for 10 September in Casablanca and will focus on the theme of fundraising in the country.
The Founder Institute was founded in 2009 in Palo Alto, California, and is currently present in more than 200 cities around the world. Throughout its history, it has helped launch more than 7,000 technology companies, providing access to a network of more than 35,000 mentors. Startups that have gone through the programme have raised more than $1.75 billion. The programme is designed to support founders from the early stages of their companies' development by connecting them with a global network of mentors, investors and peers.
The arrival of the Founder Institute in Morocco represents a significant milestone for the country, positioning it as a new benchmark on the global map of innovation and entrepreneurship.
