El encanto de Marruecos: un destino de ensueño para los turistas

The Moroccan government has implemented a number of measures to improve tourism in the country, including improving tourism infrastructure, reducing taxes and simplifying procedures for visitors. These initiatives have created a favourable investment environment, leading to increased foreign tourist arrivals and increased employment opportunities for locals. Moroccan tourism is expected to recover from the recession, increasing the number of visitors and generating greater wealth for the country.
The Moroccan National Tourist Board aims to attract 17.5 million visitors over the next three years and to rank among the top ten most attractive global tourist destinations by 2026. The Kingdom's Ministry of Tourism has begun implementing a new plan that aims to improve the country's tourism sector. This involves doubling air transport capacity, improving promotion and marketing, diversifying cultural and entertainment products, rehabilitating hotels and creating new accommodation capacity.

Adel al-Faqeer, director general of the Tourism Board, recently confirmed that there is coordination with all stakeholders and professionals in the sector to develop new bases for tourism work. Al-Faqeer stressed the ambitions of the office to achieve the desired goals, noting that the foundations have already been laid to achieve this end.
Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair, revealed in a meeting with all components of the Moroccan tourism sector its ambitions in the market, its work plan and the opportunities available to it. The Moroccan Tourism Board has identified priority measures to implement the new strategy, which include expanding the "Morocco, Land of Lights" promotional campaign, doubling air transport capacity, and strengthening promotion and marketing through strategic partnerships with global players.
The Kingdom's Minister of Tourism, Fatima Zahraa Amour, has announced several initiatives to boost the country's tourism sector, including the rehabilitation of existing hotels, the creation of new hotels, the improvement of the quality of services and the strengthening of the Tourism Observatory to optimise decision-making. These measures aim to increase investment in the field of leisure activities and increase the rate of return of tourists.

Meanwhile, the Mohammed VI Fund is considering rescuing troubled local hotels by buying minority stakes in them to bring them back into operation with the aim of boosting tourism activity in the next stage. The prime minister has suggested the creation of bodies headed by a ministerial committee under his chairmanship to ensure the success of the tourism roadmap. These structures will help steer and implement the plan at central, regional and local levels.
The authorities have allocated a total of US$784 million to support the country's tourism sector. This includes an investment of Dh6 billion ($588 million) for the success of the new scheme, in addition to the $98 million committed in one year as part of a contingency plan. The Ministry of Tourism has also signed partnerships with tour operator Al Tours to attract 10,000 customers from the German market during the 2023-2024 summer and winter seasons.

In addition, Morocco has forged a partnership with the TUI Group, for the next five years, which could increase the number of tourists to the country and raise its growth rate to 220%. Last year the country received 11 million tourists, exceeding the world average of 63%, and the sector recovered around 116% of travel revenues. Morocco's tourism strategy aims to double the volume of trips scheduled by tour operators and online travel agencies. This is due to the agreement between the Moroccan National Tourist Office and Royal Air Maroc, which has opened up new markets. A report in the British newspaper The Sun highlighted three attractive factors for Britons to visit the Moroccan city of Rabat: the short distance between the two countries, the low prices and the sandy beaches. To attract more British tourists, the Moroccan National Tourist Office and the National Federation of Tourism have set up three work cells and created an advisory committee to improve assistance and monitoring of the Moroccan destination.
