Renault unveils Mobilize DUO, the first 100% electric vehicle produced in Morocco

Morocco and the Renault Group are taking the automotive industry to the next level. In the presence of leading figures from the national automotive sector, the Renault Group's plant in Tangier unveiled the 2,000th unit of the first 100% electric vehicle produced in Morocco: the Mobilize DUO.
This milestone, which reflects Renault's commitment to Moroccan industry, was attended by the Minister of Industry, Ryad Mezzour; the President of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Omar Moro; the CEO of Renault Maroc, Mohamed Bachiri; and the CEO of Mobilize, Gianluca De Ficchy.

A sustainable and cutting-edge urban vehicle
The automotive industry, one of the sectors that contributes most to the Moroccan economy, embodies the values of the Morocco of the future: commitment and innovation. With the assembly of this new 100% electric model, Morocco is positioning itself as a key player in the development of the sector at the continental and international levels.
Ranked as the European Union's leading vehicle exporter, ahead of the world's two largest economies, the United States and China, the North African country now has a clear path to compete with Tesla and ByD. In addition, the Usine Renault plant in Tangier will compete with the manufacture of the Dacia Jogger hybrid vehicle. Specifically, the vehicle will begin to be exported to countries such as France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
According to Mohamed Bachiri and the CEO of Mobilize, the plant is ready for annual production of 17,000 units and the integration of new national companies as suppliers, as a symbol of support for the local economy.

‘This new project embodies our ability to support the transition to the technologies of the future,’ said Mohamed Bachiri, director of the Renault Maroc Group, on social media. Along the same lines, Gianluca De Ficchy added that ‘the cars of tomorrow will be electric, they will be connected, and even the forms of mobility will be completely different from today's.’
Moroccan Minister of Industry Ryad Mezzour pointed out that ‘this factory, already a pioneer in carbon neutrality and operational excellence, is a testament to the progress we have made and our shared ambition.’
Features of the Mobilize DUO
The new vehicle will have a range of 160 kilometres and 40% of its materials will be fully recycled, with 95% recyclable at the end of its life. The model has all the latest safety systems on the market, two seats and doors that open upwards like a gull wing.

El
The entire design, which was focused on being as efficient as possible, was developed by Moroccan experts in the sector. It should be noted that its utility version (Bento) will also be produced soon in Tangier. In the words of the CEO of Mobilize, ‘The DUO is a concrete solution for cleaner and smarter urban mobility.’
Finally, Mohamed Bachiri concluded the event by highlighting the involvement of Moroccan companies. ‘More than 8,000 hours of training were dedicated to new skills, particularly electrical certification. This project demonstrates the Group's renewed confidence in Morocco and our ability to drive the technologies of the future.’
