Royal Air Maroc will launch three new flights in June
In order to strengthen its position in key markets, Royal Air Maroc will start operating three new flights on 22 June. Coinciding with the start of summer, the Moroccan airline will launch flights linking Casablanca with Naples, Manchester and Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, according to a statement from the company.
The launch of these flights is part of the airline's plan to strengthen its network for the summer season.
The airline will resume direct flights to the Italian city of Naples, operating two flights a week on Mondays and Saturdays. The Casablanca-Naples flight will take off from Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) at 16:15 and will arrive in Italy at 20:30 local time. On the other hand, the Naples-Casablanca flight will be scheduled at 21:30 and will arrive in Casablanca at 23:50.
The new route between Casablanca and Manchester will operate three flights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Departure from Casablanca will be at 13:45 and arrival in the English city at 17:20 local time. The return flight is scheduled for 18:20, with an estimated arrival in Casablanca at 21:45.
In addition to the Italian and English cities, the Moroccan airline will reinforce its network in Africa with a new flight to Abuja.
This direct route will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Departure from Casablanca will be at 1:15 a.m. to arrive at Abuja International Airport at 6:10 a.m. local time. Departure from Abuja, on the other hand, will be at 7.10am to arrive in Casablanca at 11.55am.
"With the opening of these new routes, the national airline reaffirms its ambitions to strengthen its positions in strategic markets, in line with its development strategy," the Royal Air Maroc statement said.
Also, at continental level, the Moroccan airline intends to expand its African network to 27 destinations from Casablanca.
"The launch of these three new routes is part of our development plan to open air routes in several promising markets," explains RAM president and CEO Hamid Addou. "We are also responding to strong demand in certain countries with large Moroccan communities," he added.
Addou also stressed that the launch of these routes aims to strengthen the continental positioning in favour of the African diaspora, particularly in Nigeria, stressing in this regard that the opening of these routes aims to make air travel a lever to promote Morocco as a tourist destination.
