Seville showcases its potential as a southern European metropolis to the international press

National and international journalists working for media outlets in more than ten countries take part in a new edition of the Fam Trip “Seville, your province for investment in southern Europe,” organized by the Seville Provincial Council and Sevilla City One.

Journalists and correspondents from national and international media outlets participated between October 19 and 22 in the second edition of the specialized press familiarization trip “Seville, your province for investment in southern Europe,” an initiative organized by the Seville Provincial Council, through Prodetur, and the Seville City One Association, Metropolis of Southern Europe.

The aim of this initiative was to raise awareness of the economic, technological, cultural, and heritage potential of Seville and its metropolitan area, positioning it as an attractive territory for investment and innovation.

Among the media outlets in attendance were iNews, The Independent, Sunday Times, and ExpressNews (United Kingdom); Merian and ND Tag/Woche (Germany); Atalayar (Spain); Le Figaro, France 24 TV, and Radio France (France); Maghreb Arabe Presse (Morocco); Alternative Press Agency (Argentina); RTP Mundo (Bolivia); and Financiero TV (Mexico), among others.

During an institutional dinner, and after thanking the journalists for their visit to see first-hand the potential of the province of Seville, the vice president of Prodetur, Rodrigo Rodríguez Hans, highlighted the “vigor” of Seville's industry and the region's ability to attract international projects “with high added value.”

“This stems from Seville's potential for entrepreneurship and business collaboration. A business network made up of large corporations, but above all SMEs, which are examples of innovation, digitalization, and resilience.” “Our vision and ability to adapt set us apart,” a statement that the vice president of Prodetur backed up with data on the province's foreign sales, according to which Seville led Andalusian exports in the first seven months of 2025, with more than €5.197 billion in business, while also maintaining a trade surplus of more than €1.35 billion. “These figures speak to the competitiveness and know-how of our companies,” he emphasized.

For his part, Rafael Miranda, president of Sevilla City One, said: “This Fam Trip has allowed us to show the international media a competitive Seville, connected with innovation, but also deeply committed to its history, culture, and environment.” He also wanted to highlight the role of Sevilla City One as a metropolitan engine of sustainable development and international projection. “Our goal is clear: to attract investment, promote cooperation between social and economic agents, and turn Seville and its metropolitan area into a model of urban innovation. The EU's designation as a climate-neutral city by 2030 places us at a key moment full of opportunities,” he explained.

A demonstration of the great potential of Seville and its province

During intense days of activity, the delegation of international journalists visited strategic locations for the economy and technological development of the province, with strategic sectors for the province. This first day concluded with a cultural visit to the rich monumental heritage that reinforces the historical and tourist dimension of the metropolis.

With this initiative, the Provincial Council and Sevilla City One are reinforcing their commitment to the global promotion of the region and to attracting new investment that will consolidate the province of Seville as an economic, technological, and cultural benchmark in southern Europe.
