The CRI of the Tangiers-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region closes the first half of the year with 40.8 billion dirhams in investments

The Regional Investment Centre of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (CRITTA) boosted investment in the region, with 433 projects and a final opinion. Of these projects, 379 were approved, representing an acceptance rate of 87.5%.

This figure is a significant increase compared to the previous year, demonstrating CRITTA's confidence in the region's economic growth potential. The total amount of investment reached 40.8 billion dirhams (4.085 billion dollars) during the first half of the year, 72% more than in the previous year. 

These developments have led to an increase of 45,630 jobs, which is a figure that can have a significant impact on the local economy. 

The sectoral distribution of investment amounts shows an increase in industrial projects, which account for more than half (54%) of the total. The tourism sector ranks second with 22%, followed by energy and mining with 15% and trade with 6%. In terms of expected employment, the industrial sector is the main provider of jobs, accounting for 83%. 

In comparison, the tourism sector contributes only 7% of jobs, while all other sectors contribute 10%. In addition, in the first half of this year, the CRI also approved 16 investment agreement projects, totalling 9.54 billion dirhams in investment. These projects will lead to the creation of 6,525 direct jobs, which is a significant increase compared to the previous year.
