The customs services of the port of Tangier will operate on a continuous basis
The Moroccan Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes has informed that a new organisation of work will be put in place as from Monday 15 April to ensure the continuous operation of customs services in the port of Tangier Med.
This measure, adopted after consultations with the port authorities and the private sector, aims to strengthen the fluidity of goods handling operations and further reduce customs times in order to support the competitiveness of exporting companies and help improve the productivity of international transport operators.
Moreover, as the Customs Administration points out in a press release, "this measure is fully in line with the business support policy pursued by Customs". In order to carry out this "action initiated in favour of companies", Customs emphasise that they have taken all the necessary measures to reinforce and mobilise their manpower in this port and to adapt the organisation of work to meet the requirements of this new mode of operation. To this end, the customs administration asks the economic operators to organise themselves accordingly.
Thus, as from Monday 15 April next, customs services will operate continuously at Tanger Med, at any time of the day, 7 days a week. This measure will consolidate the regional and international leadership of Tangier Med, ranked among the 20 best container ports in the world.
