The Renault Morocco Foundation strengthens its commitment to public schooling
The Renault Morocco Foundation continues its unwavering commitment to Moroccan public schools. The Foundation is working to continue to promote stable education in rural areas. The Renault Morocco Group, led by Managing Director Mohammed Bachiri, continues to carry out this remarkable task.
The latest example is the renovation of a fourth public school in Melloussa, the Groupe Scolaire Melloussa primary school, located in a small rural enclave in the province of Fahs-Anjra in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region of Morocco.
The renovation work consisted of repairing the electrical network, renovating the sanitary installations, connecting the septic tanks, resurfacing the classrooms, paving and renovating the playground, securing the perimeter and the access gate, improving the roofs and other work on the facilities, as reported by Aujourd Hui. All this for a school with more than 200 pupils.
The Renault Foundation was launched in 2001 with the main objective of supporting associations directly related to social inclusion and sustainable mobility and, over the years, has expanded its range of activities in all the countries in which the French car company Renault is present. Today, it continues to focus on solidarity and generosity.
The Foundation pursues integration through employment and other actions to promote the development and social inclusion of underprivileged sectors.
In Morocco, the Foundation began operating in 2018 by launching various projects to refurbish rural public schools, especially in the field of primary education, in areas where the Renault Group is economically active.
In this regard, the Renault Morocco Foundation is committed to developing social initiatives in the regions where the Group operates, with a particular focus on education and road safety. In this line of action, for the fourth consecutive year, this new public primary school in Melloussa, in the Tangiers region, has been rehabilitated. "This is the fourth school completely renovated by the Renault Morocco Foundation in the commune of Melloussa, near the Renault Group's plant in Tangier," said a press release issued following the recent visit to this primary school by Mohammed Bachiri, CEO of the Renault Group and Chairman of the Renault Morocco Foundation, who was accompanied by a delegation from the Group.
The official note also indicated that the visit of the group sent by the Moroccan delegation of the French automobile company made it possible to supervise the progress of the refurbishment works carried out aimed at improving the learning conditions of the pupils and promoting the preservation of the educational system in this rural area.
"Through these improvements to the school's infrastructure, the Foundation's main objective is to support access to a welcoming and safe environment that has a positive impact on student retention, engagement and academic performance," the official statement added.
To make education more accessible and effectively combat the various causes of school dropout, the Renault Morocco Foundation has been developing activities such as "the creation of pre-school classes for the youngest children, the rehabilitation of public schools, extracurricular educational projects to support access to books, effective mobility solutions for secondary school students, the provision of scholarships to deserving secondary school students and integration projects through skills training," the official note concluded.
