The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Morocco strengthens economic ties with the Valencian Community

The Entrepreneur Forum held in Tangier on 2 and 3 June consolidates strategic alliances to promote business cooperation between the two regions 

The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Morocco – Tangier-Nador-Kenitra actively participated in the Entrepreneur Forum – Valencian Community, held on 2 and 3 June 2025 in Tangier. The main objective of this high-level economic meeting was to strengthen commercial and institutional relations between Morocco and the Valencian Community, thereby promoting new opportunities for cooperation and investment. 

The forum was attended by a distinguished institutional and business delegation from the Valencian Community, led by Ms Marián Cano García, Regional Minister for Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, and Mr José Vicente Morata, President of the Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Valencian Community. On the Moroccan side, important local authorities attended, such as Mr Abdelatif Afailal, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region (CCIS-TTA), Mr Juan Carlos Sánchez, Vice-President of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Morocco – Tangier-Nador-Kenitra, Mr. Yassine Tazi, Director General of the Regional Investment Centre of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, and Ms. Chaibia Balbzioui Alaoui, Regional President of AFEM Maroc for the Northern Region. 

One of the key moments of the forum was the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, the CCIS-TTA and the Regional Foundation. The purpose of this agreement is to develop joint actions in areas such as continuing education, the exchange of experiences and best practices, and the promotion of business internationalisation. 

The forum programme lasted two days. On 2 June, there was an institutional presentation of both regions, followed by B2B meetings between businesspeople. At the same time, the institutional delegation was received by the Wali of the region, before participating in a business meeting organised by the CGEM Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and the CEMAES.

The day ended with an official dinner attended by Ms Cano García and other relevant personalities. 

3 June was devoted to strategic visits, including a tour of the port of Tangier and the city's medina, ending with an informal dinner that allowed the delegations to further strengthen their ties. 

The main objectives of this mission were: 

  • To promote the exchange of knowledge and good practices between the Valencian Community and the northern region of Morocco. 
  • To identify new opportunities for cooperation, investment and trade.
  • To promote the internationalisation of Valencian companies in the Moroccan market, and vice versa. 

As a key player in strengthening economic relations between Spain and Morocco, the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Morocco – Tangier-Nador-Kenitra reaffirmed its commitment to joint business development, acting as a strategic bridge between the two territories.
