Ukraine, the erosion of traditional alliances and distorted narratives about the legitimacy of governments are creating a volatile scenario in which populism and historical revisionism are dangerously intertwined

Gustavo de Arístegui, diplomat, ambassador and member of parliament for the Popular Party, analysed the future of Ukraine on La Razón on 23 February 2025 following the arrival in power of Donald Trump, who, on more than one occasion, claimed that he would end the conflict in 24 hours. However, meetings with Zelensky are becoming increasingly tense as Trump's conditions do not please the Ukrainian president.
