Trump to create his own social media platform
Former US president Donald Trump will once again have a presence on social media in two or three months, but this time he will do so by creating his own internet platform.
This was announced by Jason Miller, one of the former US president's top advisers, in a statement on Sunday to the conservative Fox network. "I think we'll see President Trump return to social media in about two or three months, but with his own platform," Miller told Fox News' #MediaBuzz.
"And this is something that I think will be one of the hottest focuses on social media," he stressed, "because it will completely redefine the (political) game, and everyone will be waiting and watching to see exactly what President Trump does.
Miller said he could not provide many more details at this time, but revealed that Trump has had "high-level meetings" at his Mar-a-Lago residence in the state of Florida with various teams to discuss his new project.
The former adviser also assured that there are "many companies" that have been interested in this project of the former Republican president. "This new platform is going to be big," Miller said, and will attract "tens of millions of people".
While his new project materialises, Trump will continue to support the Republican party's candidates for the different institutions.
The social network Twitter cancelled Donald Trump's account after the riots on Capitol Hill on 6 January, which are still under investigation.
The platform had previously deleted some of the then president's messages in which he insisted that he had been robbed of his victory in the last presidential elections.
