Women in the technology sector: Morocco's project with Huawei to bridge the gender gap
The conference was held in Rabat and focused on increasing the presence of women in the technology sectors, with the aim of reducing the gender gap in this sector and further promoting the technological transition in Morocco.
Global tech giant Huawei has partnered with Morocco's Ministry of Digital Transition to empower women in the technology sector, marking a significant step towards advancing gender equality and promoting technological advancement.
Huawei Morocco Brand Director Nabil Ouchagour told Morocco World News that this initiative is part of Huawei's "Tech for Her, Tech by Her, and Tech with Her" programme to increase the presence of women in the technology sectors, "it is an honour for me and for my country, which strongly believes in the principles of equality and promotes gender inclusion in education and digital inclusion, to be present before you for the launch of the second Women in Tech day," said Ouchagour during the opening ceremony of the event.
This partnership aims to create a supportive environment that encourages women to pursue careers in technology and provides them with the tools and tools needed to achieve a successful career in the tech world, leveraging Huawei's expertise and the Moroccan government's dedication to digital transformation.
One of the main objectives of this collaboration is to improve women's access to technology education and training. During this event, various hands-on workshops, briefings and participation in live conversations with Huawei's own experts took place. Topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, emerging technologies or soft skills (problem solving, innovation, technological transformation) were discussed.
In addition, the association seeks to develop an ecosystem that supports women entrepreneurs working in the technology industry. In light of the rise of new businesses in Morocco, this organisation seeks to provide women entrepreneurs with the resources they need, including financial access, networking opportunities and career advice.
This event is part of Huawei's vision to drive technology development through various initiatives around the world, as well as promote gender equality and inclusion.
A very important step towards bridging the gender gap in the technology sector has been taken with the cooperation between Huawei and the Ministry of Digital Transition of Morocco.
