Antonio Ecarri Bolívar denounces unacceptable disrespect for the Spanish Government by the Venezuelan regime
The ambassador of Venezuela's interim government to Spain, Antonio Ecarri Bolívar, issued an official statement opposing the declarations that senior leaders of the Venezuelan regime of Nicolás Maduro have been making against the Spanish government.
The communiqué issued by the Embassy of the Venezuelan interim government noted that Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro had recently issued statements against the King of Spain, the head of the Spanish State. "The deputy president of the usurper regime, Delcy Rodríguez, also spoke out against a representative of the Spanish government, in this case, the foreign minister, Arancha González Laya, who reiterated that she would not recognise the fraudulent elections on December 6", the official note stated. "We are nobody's colony; we don't have to ask anybody's permission for the people to vote. I am very grateful to Zapatero, who has done a lot for Venezuela," Delcy Rodríguez said at the time.
"They offend the head of state, who is the king, they criticise the foreign minister and the Spanish government harshly, but they highlight the former president, Rodríguez Zapatero, in an attempt to sow confusion and intrigue within the Spanish government, which is intolerable in any bilateral relationship," Antonio Ecarri-Bolívar said.
The Chavista leader Diosdado Cabello also asked EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell not to comment on Venezuela's "internal affairs" after the Spanish politician criticised the elections to be held in December. "Don't be foolish, Mr Borrell, don't interfere with Venezuela's internal affairs (...) the elections are a constitutional matter," Cabello said; this is a "complete disrespect and an act of profound ignorance," Antonio Ecarri said.
"These statements by three of the highest representatives of the usurper regime in Venezuela show that we are not dealing with the spokespersons of a civilised state, but with a group of desperate fanatics who are holding hostage a dignified people who reject them," the ambassador concluded.
