La ASADEDH respalda la "valiente" decisión de España respecto al conflicto del Sáhara
The Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH) has issued a press release in which it expresses its satisfaction for "the courageous decision of the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to seek a solution to the Sahara conflict without winners or losers". The Spanish leader has recognised that the Moroccan proposal for Western Sahara is the "most serious, realistic and credible" basis for resolving the conflict.
ASADEDH also denounces in the statement the "incitement to violence, mobilisation and apology for war" from the Polisario Front.
Here is the ASADEDH press release:
The Sahrawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH) welcomes the courageous decision of the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to seek a solution to the Sahara conflict without winners or losers.
In our opinion, this decision will contribute to the stability of the entire region of North Africa and Southern Europe, as well as put an end to the hardships both in terms of human rights and the harsh living conditions suffered for almost five decades by our compatriots in the Tindouf camps (Algeria).
For all these reasons, we applaud and support this historic step forward in favour of peace taken by the Spanish government.
At the same time, we condemn the incitement to violence, mobilisation and apology for "war" by the Polisario leaders, encouraged and supported by the Algerian government, which only encourages the destabilisation of this already fragile region.
