The president of the Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH), Ramdan Mesaud Larbi, replies to the Spanish lawyer Manuel Ollé after presenting in Gran Canaria the "no case of Brahim Ghali" in a conference in which members of the Polisario Front took part.

The official statement of ASADEDH is reproduced below:

In response to the conference held yesterday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria under the title "the non Ghali case" I would like, on behalf of the Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH), to qualify the statements made by the Polisario's lawyer Mr. Manuel Ollé:

1- The complaint filed by this association dates back to 2007 when Mr. Brahim Ghali was not yet secretary general of the Polisario. At that time, the Secretary General was Mohamed Abdelaziz (RIP) and he was not among the defendants because no victim linked him to the human rights violations committed in the camps between 1974 and 1991, unlike Mr. Ghali.

2- To inform that our lawsuit, which is the one I can talk about, is still before the Supreme Court, which has not yet ruled.

3- What Mr. Ollé omitted during his lecture is that following this complaint, the Polisario Front acknowledged on 12 October 2022 the serious human rights violations committed in the camps and its willingness to compensate the victims and the families of the disappeared in the Polisario prisons.
