Donald Trump announces a legal offensive that will begin on Monday to investigate the "illegal votes" and "bad things" that happened in Pennsylvania

The announcement of Joe Biden as the new President of the United States has caught Trump playing golf at his Sterling Club in Virginia. The president had tweeted, just before Biden's proclamation, that he was "going to win the election by a long shot".

This is not the first time President Trump has lied during the vote count in the United States. At first, after knowing the first results, he announced that he was going to win the election while denouncing, creating confusion, that the count was being a fraud.

Also, during his speech yesterday to comment on the results, Trump began to dismiss the country's electoral system as "fraudulent". This was how the major television stations (ABC, CBS and NBC) cut his speech in unison at prime time.

The counting of the votes in Pennsylvania gave Joe Biden the victory this afternoon, followed by the counting of the state of Nevada. Together, they gave 279 elected votes to the Democrats, while the Republicans kept 214.

Even now, as the media clearly announces Joe Biden's victory, President Trump continues to deny reality. In a message published by his campaign, Trump states that "it is the legal votes that decide the president, not the media," and announces for next Monday the beginning of a legal offensive to ensure "that the real winner takes office.

The threats are serious and the denunciations are already underway. The Republicans on Friday filed an urgent petition with the Supreme Court to set aside postal votes received after election day in an attempt to have them annulled.

The Supreme Court accepted the petition and ordered the state of Pennsylvania to set aside the votes that arrived after Election Day on November 3, something that is already provided for in the state's protocols.

After the announcement of Biden's victory, the Republican Party has been split in two. Prominent figures of the party have expressed their support for Trump and reminded that the recount is not over yet, while other voices within the party have already congratulated Democrat Biden after the news.

Postal votes as an excuse for fraud

The US elections have been marked by the coronavirus pandemic, which has led many citizens to choose to vote by mail instead of physically going to the polls.

Fear of contagion has led to record numbers of postal votes that have exceeded the capacity of the system. As a result, voting has taken more than four days and is set to take another week. Georgia is going to repeat the recount and North Carolina has announced that the results will be available in a few weeks.

This whole situation has served as an excuse for Trump to contest the elections and accuse the air of "counting illegal votes". "The American people have a right to an honest election: that means counting the legal votes and not counting the illegal votes. This is the only way for people to have full confidence in elections," Trump said.

As he has been repeating over the past three days, Trump has again ensured that some of the voting in some states, such as Pennsylvania, took place without the presence of Republican Party observers, an observation that has been rejected by the state authorities.

"I will not rest until the American people have the count they deserve and deserve what democracy demands," the note concludes. On Wednesday the President tried to stop the vote count in Michigan and the courts rejected the idea.

Trump announces that elections are being made illegal

President Trump on Saturday reported without evidence that tens of thousands of votes were received "illegally" after polling stations closed in Pennsylvania, one of the most coveted states in the bidding for the White House.

According to Trump, these votes have "totally and easily" changed the results in favour of his Democratic rival, Joe Biden. "Tens of thousands of votes were illegally received after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Election Day, totally and easily changing the results in Pennsylvania and other states," Trump said on his Twitter account.

With an accusatory tone and a clearly indignant attitude, Trump has continued to feed his theory through Twitter. "Bad things happened during those hours where LEGAL TRANSPARENCY was viciously and crudely not allowed. Tractors blocked the doors and the windows were covered with thick cardboard so that observers could not see inside the counting rooms. BAD THINGS HAPPENED INSIDE, BIG CHANGES WERE MADE," Trump added.

Trump's message thread, four in all, was later tagged by Twitter as a possible hoax, noting that "some or all of the content shared on this tweet is in dispute and could be misleading about an election or other civic process.

The idea of accepting defeat does not seem to be in the plans of Trump, who refuses to become the tenth president of the United States to serve only one term.
