Guardia Civil officers arrest a woman in Vitoria in an operation against jihadist terrorism
Agents of the Guardia Civil arrested in Vitoria, Spain, a suspected jihadist in an anti-terrorist operation that remains open.
The suspect was taken to the premises of the security forces after being arrested on Tuesday in the city of Vitoria. These Guardia Civil officers transferred the woman after her arrest in the Zabalgana neighbourhood, as part of an operation against jihadism that is still open.
The alleged jihadist arrested in Vitoria was being investigated in an operation against alleged radical jihadist elements. The investigation focuses on one of the persons arrested for her alleged radicalisation and recruitment work.
The operation was carried out in a flat located on the fourth floor of the intersection of Calle Derechos Humanos and Calle Reina Sofía, at number 96 of the latter street. Apparently, it is a social flat, as reported by Diario Noticias de Álava.
According to sources in this media, the police officers arrested several people, although with special attention to one for terrorist radicalisation.
According to the EFE news agency, the woman arrested, a Spanish national who had converted to Islam, was apparently recruiting potential radical jihadists.
According to this information, the agents investigated the internet movements of the person under surveillance, as it was suspected that she was a suspected jihadist and that she was in the process of radicalisation.
