Hammouchi sets out his vision for the future of security
Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance of Morocco (DGSN-DGST), has participated in the 50th session of the annual meeting of the High Council of the Naif Arab University of Security Sciences in Riyadh to provide his views on improving police training and addressing emerging security threats.
As a member of the University's Supreme Council since 2022, Hammouchi stressed the need for a new educational strategy for the period 2025-2029. In particular, he said education will focus on improving police academics, expanding into new scientific fields and promoting innovation to meet the public's growing expectations for security services.
‘The session marked the adoption of the university's new strategic plan for the period 2025-2029 aimed at developing the educational environment and scientific research to address security challenges,’ the DGSN said in a statement.
As the statement said, Hammouchi also addressed emerging non-traditional threats, emphasising that members of the university's supreme council addressed supporting points for implementing the new police training strategy, including financial aspects, sustainability and improved governance.
The annual meetings of the NAUSS High Council coincide with the graduation ceremony of the 42nd graduating class in the master's and doctoral cycles of the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
Hammouchi participated in the closing ceremony, presided over by Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdelaziz Ben Saud Ben Nayef Ben Abdelaziz, in the presence of members of the University's Higher Council.
He also took part in the ceremony of awarding university diplomas to the laureates, from several Arab countries, who are continuing their higher studies in the various faculties and specialised institutes of NAUSS.
